CIBC joins Visa network in waiving Visa interchange fees for donations to Haiti relief efforts

CIBC, Visa Canada, and other financial institutions are waiving interchange fees through the end of February on donations made by Canadian Visa cardholders to a group of Canadian charities that are providing support to Haitian relief efforts. This list includes: the Canadian Red Cross, CARE Canada, Save The Children Canada, UNICEF Canada, and World Vision.

CIBC and FirstCaribbean International Bank previously announced a donation of $100,000 to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake on January 12.

Donations to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake fund can be made at any CIBC branch across Canada; by going online; by phone at 1-800-418-1111; by mail; or by visiting your local Red Cross office.
