Stop Payments

You can make a stop payment on either a cheque or the next pre-authorized debit in a series that you have pending on your accounts anytime within CIBC Online Banking.

Just sign on to CIBC Online Banking with your card number and password, and:

1. Select "Customer Services" from the left-hand navigation
2. Select "Stop Payments" from the "Banking Services" column

To stop a payment, you will need:

• The details for the cheque or pre-authorized payment to be stopped including the payee and exact amount of payment
• Information on the account from which the payment would have been paid
