For Quebec residents, no interest is charged on a new purchase if we receive payment for your new balance in full by the payment due date. Overlimit fee: $20. Account Maintenance Fee: $10 Statement Copy Fee: $2 each. Additional Disclosures:
Dishonoured Payment to CIBC Fee: The fee applies if a payment to the Visa account by cheque or preauthorized debit from any financial institution, including CIBC, is not accepted due to non-sufficient funds (NSF), account closed or payment stopped.
Dishonoured Convenience Cheque or Balance Transfer Fee: The fee applies if a Convenience Cheque or balance transfer is not accepted due to insufficient available credit.
Fee for Copy of Statement or Transaction Receipt: There is no charge for a copy of the current month's statement or a transaction receipt appearing on it or if the inquiry is due to a CIBC error. Transaction receipts may not be available for PIN-based transactions.
More Information about Interest and the Grace Period: Interest is charged on new purchases from their transaction date if you do not pay your full balance by the payment due date (and you reside in Quebec) or if you do not pay your full balance by the payment date and you did not pay your full balance by the proceeding payment due date (if you reside elsewhere). Interest is charged on cash advances from the date they are taken. Interest is charged on, balance transfers and convenience cheques from the date they are posted to your account.
If you do not pay your full balance by the payment due date, we will extend the payment due date by 5 days in the following month (your payment period will be 26 days instead of the normal 21). Interest will continue to accrue for the extended period. When you pay your balance in full, your payment due date will revert to 21 days after the statement date.
